I recently sat down and watched this interview with George R.R. Martin from several years ago around his Song of Ice and Fire series when Game of Thrones was George R.R. Martin said he was "out of the loop" during the final four seasons of "Game of Thrones." During an interview with The New York Times, he said he didn't know why that happened. "You have to ask Dan and David," he said, referencing showrunners (David Benioff and D.B. Weiss).
