The truth is that now, in 2021, with the loot box drama gone and all the issues ironed out, Shadow of War is a great game to play. The relatable world, lore and characters make this a no brainer for anyone into the Tolkien universe, and the original Nemesis system gives a ‘personal’ feel to the whole experience.

The mounted combat has been fine tuned to let Talion use a Glaive to attack instead of the clunky sword combat from Shadow of Mordor. The Nemesis System. Shadow of Mordor blew my mind with the It's way better than Shadow of Mordor. The Nemesis system is light years ahead. I think I lost my 3 first Captain fights. I was suprised by that. I then read the Captains strengths and weaknesses and played accordingly - and now no issues. Much better game. I'm playing Nemesis level and having a blast right from level 1.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions’ Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor received multiple “Game of the Year” awards for its engrossing open-world action set in J. R
Are you playing Shadow of Mordor or Shadow of War? I ask because you mentioned epic runes, and I'm pretty sure those are just in Mordor, not War. In answer to your question, though, yes you should absolutely use those runes in Mordor. They are amazing. The one that causes your focus to drain at half speed and the poison immunity ones are the best.
Combat-wise you're better off comparing it to the recent Batman games - it uses exactly the same combat system with abilities tweaked to better fit the setting. Stealth-wise it's kind of a mixed bag. Sneaking around is about the same difficulty at the core, but is a touch trickier since there isn't as much stuff to hide in/behind/on top of.
It’s cool, but it could be so much better with better writing and a more interesting story. From my perspective especially, i’d say that I wish that it was more of an open world through all the lands, not just around Mordor, in more of a Skyrim vibe than an Assassins Creed one. More exploration, more looting, better story would make it better.
I found the controller to be a lot easier. I played shadow of mordor with keyboard and mouse, tried the controller but i like K&M more.I use a controller for games like dark souls and fifa. I would prefer Controller (XB1), but I ended up switching to Mouse/Keyboard on SoM because of bow aiming. Graugs are at least good against regular uruks in SoW though. But all beasts are overglorified distractions rather than help while in the first game they were both distractions and actual help. Getting the beast nerf and gameplay changes outta the way, shadow of mordor still looks quite a bit better and has a much better aesthetic.
8.Bright Lord’s Hammer. Brighit Lord’s Hammer is one of the harder items to obtain in Shadow Of War. To get it, you have to beat all of the Shadow Of The Past quests with the gold rating. And the effect it has is worth grinding for it. Bright Lord’s Hammer lets your Charged Ranged attacks freeze nearby enemies.

Against Talion, I'd say poison or curse. Poison makes Talion unable to run and disables counter (and dodge?) prompts, while Curse drains Wrath and Focus and disables the minimap. I happen to have nearly a full set of Dark Legendary gear, so I personally skew towards poison.

Cause it sure as hell ain't strength if there are normal that can be better than epic or legendary. Think of it like with the items, regular have nothing, rare have one extra thing, epic have two extra things and legendaries have 3.

CaucusInferredBulk. • 6 yr. ago. Fire is probably the most useful, but its also the one with the most resistance that I've seen. However the real answer is they are all super effective if you have gear, talents, and play style built around them. If you end up with a bunch of poison boosting gear, go poison. or curse, or fire, or even frost.
Sometimes you don't. Speaking generally, though, your best options against Orcs are Ologs and Berserkers. Ologs simply excel at murdering their smaller kin. The rest depends on what you're looking for. Bodyguard: Berserkers are able to keep up with you and the lifesteal off of Rampage is your best friend. pzgSv.
